Child safety seats are available for infants and toddlers at most Canadian Avis locations. The usual cost is $13 per day or $65 per week (5-7 days) with a maximum of $195 per rental for the use of an Avis child safety seat. Seats must be returned to the original renting location. Failure to return the seat in the same condition as received (minus normal wear and tear) may result in a $50 additional charge. Types and brands of car seats vary by location.

Our child safety seats can be reserved only when renting a vehicle with Avis. If you're not renting with Avis and need a safety seat, contact a local rental center that carries tables, chairs, cribs, etc.

Child safety seats can be reserved online, but the price will not be included in the Estimated Total. If you need to modify the number or type of seat reserved, please contact customer service.

At Avis, we strive to make everyone's rental experience as easy, safe and stress-free as possible. That's why, as a feature of our Avis Cares® Program, we provide a full range of products and services for drivers and passengers with disabilities. Our visually impaired passengers can travel worry-free. Just make an advance reservation, arrive with a licensed driver at least 25 years old, and you're on your way.

Transfer Board: Enables easier wheelchair transfer in and out of the vehicle.
Panoramic Mirror: Provides a much larger field of view for any driver.
Swivel Seat: Allows the driver or passenger to turn his or her body in the car seat with limited effort. The swivel seat easily can be removed from underneath the person for transport.
Hand Controls: Enables drivers to accelerate or brake using a hand-controlled device. Drivers without disabilities are able to drive the vehicle without interference from the hand controls.
Spinner Knob: Allows the driver to turn the steering wheel with a full turning radius using only one hand.

Avis offers the following fuel options:

Fuel Service Option: Save yourself time and frustration by adding our Fuel Service Option to your next online reservation. By selecting the Fuel Service Option, you can purchase a tank of gas directly from Avis at the time of rental, and avoid the hassle of searching for a gas station to fill the tank before returning the car.

If the Fuel Service Option isn't exactly what you're looking for, choose one of the following refuelling options at the time of rental:

Self-Service: Purchase fuel just prior to returning and return the car to Avis with a full tank of gas. If you choose this option, Avis will not charge you for fuel.

EZ Fuel: With Avis' newest refuelling service, customers who drive less than 125 kilometres pay a low flat fee for fuel and return the car without refuelling. We'll automatically charge you a flat fee*. If you present a receipt for the purchase of fuel, the charge will be removed at the time of return.

 

Please Note: Of out three refuelling options, only the Fuel Service Option can be reserved online. If you do not select the Fuel Service Option during your online reservation, you can choose a refuelling option at the time of rental.

No. Trailer hitches may not be used with any Avis vehicle.

Most of our vehicles do not come equipped with their own navigation systems. However, you can reserve our Garmin where2TM GPS navigation unit at participating locations for a reasonable daily rate.
